Dept. of Samhita, Sanskrit and SidhantaKnown popularly as Department of basic principles of Ayurveda, is the department with which all the students four batches of BAMS course and Post graduate scholars of all branches of MD/MS Ayurveda are associated. Besides teaching historical aspect of Ayurveda along with its fundamentals, this department shoulders the responsibility of imparting knowledge of ancient Ayurvedic texts like Charak Samhita and Ashtang Hridya to the students. Making Post graduate scholars aware of research methodology is also the duty of this department. The teaching methodology of this department remains focused on applied aspects of Samhitas. The department has a rich treasure of books and charts.
